Nigel Doughty

Nigel Doughty (born December 12, 1957 in Newark-on-Trent , Nottinghamshire , † February 4, 2012 in Skillington , Lincolnshire ) was an English football official and businessman.

career

Doughty was chairman of Doughty Hanson & Co , an international British investment firm that he founded with Richard Hanson in 1985.

From April 2002 he was chairman and owner of the Nottingham Forest football club , where he was part of the top management along with Chief Executive Mark Arthur. Prior to that, he was a board member and president of various companies such as Umbro and Tumi. In October 2011 he announced his resignation as President of Nottingham Forest.

On February 4, 2012, Doughty died while exercising in his home gym in Skillington .

Private

His son Michael Doughty is an active professional footballer at Swindon Town .
