Nihad Hasanović

Nihad Hasanović (born August 11, 1974 in Bihać , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian writer and translator .

Life

Hasanović graduated from the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Sarajevo in 2003 with a diploma in French Language and Literature .

In addition to dramas and a collection of short stories , he published three novels as well as stories and poems in literary magazines. As a narrator, he deals with the neuralgic points of Bosnian-Herzegovinian society. He also translated several books from French.

Hasanović is a signatory of the declaration published in 2017 on the common language of Croatians , Serbs , Bosniaks and Montenegrins .

Awards

Hasanović has received residencies as a writer in the USA (2001, International Writing Program, Iowa City ), France (2008, Résidence de La Prévôté (ECLA), Bordeaux ) and Austria (2016, Q21 in the MuseumsQuartier Wien ).

Hasanović's last novel Laki Pogon (Light Work) (2016) was awarded one of the most important literary prizes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the “Skender Kulenović” Prize.
