Nihat Ozdal

Nihat Özdal (born 1984 in Halfeti , Şanlıurfa Province ) is a Turkish educator , writer and project and sports director.

Life

In Turkey, Özdal is one of the pioneers of visual poetry . His artistic works have been part of a wide variety of installations both nationally and internationally . Since 2002 his poems have been published in magazines in and outside Turkey. In 2008, his collection of poems called 'Google'den Önce' (= Before Google) was awarded prizes at the award ceremonies for young up-and-coming poets 'Memet Fuat Şiir Ödülleri' and 'Homeros Şiir Ödülleri'. In September 2012 he published his second volume of poetry called 'Kanat Izleri (Wing Traces).

His works have been translated into several languages. In addition to his professional activity as a teacher, Özdal also worked as a museum curator and surf instructor .

According to his website, Özdal donates the proceeds from his works to associations that work for nature conservation.
