Otto Almstadt

Otto Almstadt (* 1940 in Hildesheim ) is a German sculptor .

Life

He studied at the Werkkunstschule Hannover . Then he was a master student of Emil Cimiotti . From 1980 to 2003 he was a professor at the HAWK .

His areas of work are plastic, sculpture and drawing.

For a while he was a member of the Kontakt-Kunst group, to which Hans-Oiseau Kalkmann also belonged. In 1976, together with Moritz Bormann, he was the editor of the book "Seven Weeks of Contact Art in the Bremerhaven City Park, Lehe". He also formed the sculpture for the civil courage prize of the city of Hildesheim . Some works have already been stolen. Today he lives in Wallenstedt, municipality of Rheden . In August 2015 he exhibited works at the Kunsthaus Einbeck.
