Hans-Oiseau Kalkmann

Hans-Werner Kalkmann (born June 27, 1940 in Ullersdorf a. Queis , Bunzlau district , Silesia ; pseudonym: Hans-OISEAU ) is a German sculptor , photographer and action artist .

Life

Hans-Werner Kalkmann studied commercial graphics at the Werkkunstschule Braunschweig from 1958 to 1960 and then completed an apprenticeship as a model maker at the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg . He then began studying at the PH Alfeld with a focus on the visual arts. Kalkmann dealt very early on with problems of the environment and here especially with the water problem, which in 1970 led to the founding of the central administration of artistic environment defense .

From 1969 to 1973 Kalkmann taught at the Hildesheim University of Applied Sciences and received a visiting professorship at the École Cantonale des Beaux-Arts , Lausanne. From 1970 to 1973 he worked with Tom J. Gramse as team: gramse / kalkmann .

Kalkmann has lived in Bodenburg since 1974 , where he taught as an art teacher at the local elementary school and later set up his workshop on the von Cramm family's castle grounds in the 1980s .

From 1989 to 1995, Kalkmann held a teaching position in the field of architecture at the FH Aachen . Since 1974 he was a member of the group Kontakt-Kunst with Otto Almstadt and Moritz Bormann , which was dissolved in 1986. Since 1987 the contact art campaigns have been continued under the name Kalkmann Kontakt-Kunst .

In 1991 Hans-Werner Kalkmann founded the Kunstverein Bad Salzdetfurth , of which he has been chairman since 1993.
