history

In March 2011, in collaboration with sound engineer and musician Sören Stanchera, her debut CD Everyone Needs a Peaceful Light was released , on which art historian and former Kunsthaus Tacheles chairwoman Bettina Hertrampf wrote about song number 5: "Schizophrenia is my number 1". Recording, mixing and mastering by sound engineer Sören Stanchera lasted 9 months to the day and were published by C4. The Nikaya font logo and the layout come from the Berlin pop philosopher and artist Roger Frank, Pale Music Int took over the distribution .

In 2013 her long-playing record Vacuum was released , which was recorded and mixed by the sound engineer of the Einstürzende Neubauten in the studio other construction site . There will be a double release in May 2013 in the White Trash Fast Food and in the House of Officers. a. with Pale Music owner Steve Morell .

In 2014 the singles Gloomy Posture and F'Hain Soups were released and distributed by Believe Digital from Hamburg, the mastering was carried out in Blueprint Studios (Manchester, GB). In the same year, the video for Homorules was recorded in the in-house rehearsal room and produced by Cheese Factory.

Since the beginning of 2015 Nikaya has returned to a four-man formation and integrated two experienced musicians into the Nikaya Sound: Albrecht Clemens (bass) and Tino Bogedaly (guitar). After a live clip from Banana Lyte to Vacuum Packed in Wild at Heart, there was another change on bass, on which Alexander Holmig (Bloody East) has been playing since 2016.

In 2017 Nikaya was invited by the Asociación Hermanos Saiz artist association for a tour to Cuba.

style

Stylistically, Nikaya's music is difficult to classify; the former Berlin rock promoter Lucy Eggs spoke of Siouxsie and the Banshees in 2010 . Composer and lyricist Florian Kusch incorporates rock influences from the late 1960s as well as elements from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. About the music, singer and guitarist Florian Kusch says: “I would say it's a mixture of hard sounds, driving drums, screeching guitars - enveloped in pop-soaked, lovely melodies.
