Niki Marty

Niki Marty (born October 13, 1973 in Zurich ) is a Swiss sports shooter .

Career

Marty started shooting at the age of 16. With the rapid-fire pistol , he is now one of the best shooters in the world.

He celebrated his greatest success in 2002 at the World Shooting Championships in Lahti when he secured the bronze medal behind the Germans Marco Spangenberg and Ralf Schumann . In the same year he reached 10th place at the World Cup final in Munich .

The following season was disappointing. At the European shooting championship in Pilsen , it was only enough for a 13th place.

In the 2004 Olympic season , Marty achieved two second places at the World Cup events in Athens in April and in Milan in June. At the Summer Olympics , which took place in Athens in August , Marty was unable to continue this form and he was only 12.

He is currently ranked 7th in the world rankings of the International Shooting Sport Federation (as of January 10, 2005).

Marty is married and lives with his wife and a child in Seengen ( Aargau ).
