Niklas Russ (born December 13, 1990 in Karlsruhe ) is a German handball player who is currently under contract with SG Leutershausen .

In 2008, Russ became European champions together with the German national junior team. In the same year he became German champion with the A-youth of SG Kronau / Östringen . Then he was a member of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen squad. In the 2009/10 season Russ had a second game right at the then second division TSG Friesenheim , with whom he managed to move up to the 1st Bundesliga .

By the beginning of the 2010/11 season he had played four Bundesliga games for the Rhein-Neckar Löwen and scored eleven goals. In the preliminary round of the EHF Champions League of the 2008/09 season he played a whole game at Wisła Płock (one goal), as well as against HC Bosna Sarajevo (three goals) in the 2009/10 season.

In the summer of 2012 soot moved to the second division promoted SG Leutershausen . For the 2014/15 season he signed a contract with Bundesliga club HBW Balingen-Weilstetten . In summer 2016 he returned to SG Leutershausen.
