Niklaus Geisler
Niklaus Geisler or Nikolaus Geißler (born April 7, 1585 in Schweinfurt , † around 1665 in Lucerne ) was a sculptor and architect of the German late Renaissance and worked in Lucerne and the surrounding area.
His best-known work is the church of St. Leodegar in the courtyard in Lucerne, where he was both architect and sculptor responsible for the entire interior from 1633 to 1650. This includes the choir stalls , the high altar and ten other altars, the pulpit , the seating of the nave, the organ case and numerous statues.
Other works by him are the pulpit of the Franciscan Church in Lucerne (1628) and plans for the Werthenstein Monastery (1631).
