Nikola Šafarić (born March 11, 1981 in Čakovec , SR Croatia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian football player .

Šafarić moved in 1997 from NK Čakovec to the youth of NK Varteks . There he began his professional career in 1998 and is still in the service of the club today. His traditional position is midfield. After his youth at the club, he is the hope and playmaker in the professional team. He learned a lot in the shadow of Miljenko Mumlek and after his move to Dinamo Zagreb took over his role in midfield, which he still fulfills today. He is considered a model professional who likes to work voluntarily overtime. He is worthy of the captaincy.

So far, Šafarić has played in three friendly matches in the Croatian national team. He was also in the team's squad in some qualifying matches for the 2006 World Cup , but he was not used there. There are also a number of games in the U-21 national team, including a. the 2004 European Championship in Germany.
