Nikolai Pavlovich Yablokov

Nikolai Pawlowitsch Jablokow ( Russian: Николай Павлович Яблоков , scientific transliteration Nikolaj Pavlovič Jablokov ; born December 20, 1925 in Furmanow ) is a Russian lawyer and scientist. He is a professor in the Department of Criminology at the Law Faculty of Lomonosov University in Moscow . He is considered the founder of Russian forensics.

Life

Yablokov studied in the aviation industry during World War II . After graduating from aeronautical engineering school in 1946, he moved to the law faculty of Lomonosov University in Moscow . After graduating there, he worked from 1950 to 1953 as a senior expert in the crime laboratory of the Ministry of Justice of the Soviet Union. From 1953 to 1956 he headed the criminalistics department in the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Soviet Socialist Federal Republic . As early as 1955, Jablokow received his doctorate with the dissertation "Technical Expertise of Documents in Forensics" under the direction of Professor Abram Winberg . In 1956, Jablokow began teaching as a professor at Lomonossow University. In 1972 Jablokow defended his work "Problems of the investigation and prevention of crimes in the field of occupational health and safety" and received the degree of Doktor nauk ( Doctor of Sciences ). From 1985 to 2012 he was head of the criminalistics department at the law school.

From 1958 Jablokow belonged to a group of authors for the creation of textbooks in forensics and was also active as an editor from 1990. He himself published four of his own textbooks, which were officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. In 1986 he was awarded the title “Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation” and “Honorary Worker of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation”.

During his time as a professor, Jablokow supervised 34 students on their way to doctoral studies. He was also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and a member of several specialized academic councils for many years. He is still a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, a member of the Academic Council of the Law Faculty of Lomonosov University, a member of the editorial board of the magazines "Westnik MGU", "Westnik Criminology" and "Criminalistics".
