Nikolaikirche (Oslebshausen)
The Protestant Nikolaikirche Oslebshausen in Bremen , Gröpelingen district, Oslebshausen district , Ritterhuder Heerstraße 1 / Oslebshauser Heerstraße , was built in 1930 based on plans by the architect and master builder Walter Görig . This building has been a listed building in Bremen since 1995 .
history
Oslebshausen grew rapidly in the 20th century. That is why the Nikolaikirche was built together with the community hall, which can be reached through an arcade, and the rectory in a central location next to the school on Oslebshauser Heerstraße . The neo-Gothic Expressionist nave brick church with a gabled roof and an engaged choir has a central, five-story tower with a square, pointed spire .
The parsonage, which was destroyed in the war, was followed by a simple new building. The community hall and arcade were demolished and in 1976 the two-storey community center with a flat roof was built here according to plans by Hermann Brede , Bremen.
The Bremen State Office for the Preservation of Monuments found: “The design of the church complex in Oslebshausen is strongly reminiscent of Görig's main work, the 'bell' on Domsheide built for the cathedral community in 1926-28. Both building complexes show the same mixture of abstract Gothic clinker expressionism and conservative modernity as well as the same pursuit of monumentality. "
Behind the church there is a memorial stone in honor of Dietrich Bonhoeffer .
The current bell dates from 1929. Her bigger sister had to be given up in the Second World War ; an orphaned yoke still testifies to it.
