Hermann Brede

Hermann Brede (born February 24, 1923 in St. Magnus near Bremen ) is a German architect.

biography

Brede is the son of a captain. After his military service in World War II, he studied architecture at the Technical University of Braunschweig a . a. as at this time Carsten Schröck and Ludwig Almstadt with Professor Friedrich Wilhelm Kraemer ( Braunschweig School ) and Johannes Göderitz . From 1953 he worked in Julius Schulte-Frohlinde's office in Bremen. In the late 1950s he founded an architecture office in Bremen. Zementring was the name of a group of young aspiring architects around Brede, Schröck, Peter Ahlers, Hans Budde and Hubert Behérycz, who advocated architectural change in Bremen. In 1963, Ahlers, Brede, Budde, and Schröck formed a loose office community on Breiten Weg in Bremen-Mitte.

In the 1960s he headed the Bund Deutscher Architekten , Landesverband Bremen.

For the "transfer of a larger number of medals and coins [with which he] significantly to the enrichment of the wealth of artistic and cultural treasures of the TU Freiberg contributed" has, he became the Prime Minister of Saxony with the June 1, 2016 Saxon Order of Merit awarded .

Brede is married and lives in Schwachhausen , where he last had his office.
