Nikolay Petrov

Nikolaj Petrow ( Bulgarian Николай Петров , born August 29, 1959 in Sredez ) is a Bulgarian politician , medic and major general in the Bulgarian army . He was Minister of Health in the Borisov III cabinet from May 4 to November 10, 2017 .

education

He studied medicine at the Varna Medical University . In 2001 he obtained his doctorate in medicine and in 2002 he was elected “Associate Professor”. In 2012 he was habilitated as professor in anesthesia and intensive care medicine .

He speaks English, French and Russian.

Career

Nikolaj Petrov has been President of the Society of Anesthesiologists in Bulgaria since 2009, in May 2014 he was elected Vice-President of the World Association for Intravenous Anesthesia and has been the Director of the Medical Military Academy of Bulgaria since June 3, 2014. He is major general in the Bulgarian army. In 2013 he was Minister of Health in the Rajkow cabinet . From May 4 to November 10, 2017, he was Minister of Health in the Borisov III cabinet.

Private

He is married and has three children.
