Nikolaus Staubach
Nikolaus Staubach (* 1946 ) is a German historian . He teaches medieval history at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster at the Institute for Early Medieval Research. He was the spokesman for the Graduate School Social Symbolism in the Middle Ages funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) from 1999 to 2008 .
Staubach's research focuses include the religious reform movements of the late Middle Ages and the forms of representation of secular and spiritual rule in the Middle Ages.
Staubach is one of the signatories of the "Correctio Filialis", which Pope Francis accuses of heresy in seven cases , including "modernism" in matters of marriage.
