Nils Conrad Kindberg (born August 7, 1832 in Karlstad , † August 23, 1910 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish educator and bryologist . Its official author's abbreviation is “ Kindb. "

Nils Conrad Kindberg was born on August 7, 1832 in Karlstad. His parents were Per Conrad Kindberg, a dealer there, and Christina Maria Kindberg, née Kiellin. He attended grammar school in his hometown from 1841 to 1849 and passed his Abitur in Uppsala on December 2, 1849. During his studies in Uppsala he had to work as a private tutor for financial reasons and obtained his doctorate in August 1856. He then worked as a teacher in Karlstad until 1858, one year in Vänersborg and until 1901 in Linköping .

In addition to his work as a teacher, he dealt intensively with botanical studies. From 1871 he himself concentrated his research on the moss (Bryophyta), for which he made many study trips to Sweden and abroad to Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and Italy, and later to North America. He published his results in over 100 publications and some textbooks, for which he often had to take a lot of criticism. His greatest work was the 6th part of the Catalog of Canadian plants (1892) which he edited together with John Macoun .

Kindberg had been married to Ansgaria Kristina Hardin since 1868 and had four children.
