Nils Schmäler (born November 10, 1969 in Lüneburg ) is a former German soccer player . He is the twin brother of Bundesliga player Olaf Schmäler .
Career
Schmäler started with his brother in the youth of SC Victoria Braunschweig . Together they went to the youth of Eintracht Braunschweig and then to their first professional station at Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart .
Schmäler made his debut in the German House of Lords on December 3, 1988, in the match between VfB Stuttgart and Werder Bremen . This was followed by four professional years at VfB Stuttgart, two years at Dynamo Dresden , various positions in the amateur field and a job as a European scout for Tottenham Hotspur . Nils Schmäler also worked as a Europe scout for Manchester United .
