The Nilsen Peak is a 780 m high and striking mountain on the Dufek coast of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains it rises at the northern end of the Waldron Spurs and marks the east side of the mouth of the Shackleton Glacier into the Ross Ice Shelf .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1966 after Willy B. Nilsen (1921-1989), captain of the USNS Chattahoochee in Operation Deep Freeze in 1965.
