Nima Mirkhoshhal (born March 15, 1997 in Darmstadt ) is a German pianist .

Life

Mirkhoshhal received his first piano lessons at the age of five from piano teacher Katrin Ahnsehl in Lüneburg . At the age of six he won a prize at the International Grotrian Steinweg Competition in Braunschweig . From 2007 to 2015 he attended the Lessing-Gymnasium Uelzen. From 2010 to 2015 he was a piano student of Hinrich Alpers .

In 2011 Mirkhoshhal passed the entrance exam for the Institute for the Early Challenge of the Musically Gifted (IFF) and was an early student there until 2014 and a young student at the Hanover University of Music and Theater from 2014 until 2015 . Meanwhile, from 2010 to 2014 he attended master classes from Ewa Kupiec , Einar Steen-Nökleberg , Jerome Lowenthal , Bob Versteeg, Jacob Leuschner and Dae-Jin Kim.

Mirkhoshhal is the winner of numerous national and international competitions, including B. the 1st prize at the International Grotrian Steinweg Competition in 2012 and 2013, the KMN concert prize at the VII. International Music Competition for Young People in Oldenburg in 2013. In 2014, he won 1st prize at the national youth music competition and then the WDR3- Classical Prize in Münster. In 2015, after a long selection process, he was admitted to the Cleveland International Piano Competition and made it through to the 2nd round.

In 2016 Mirkhoshhal received a scholarship from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben , where he was awarded the Carl-Heinz Illies scholarship.

He performed at concerts in Germany, Austria and the USA, e.g. B. in the Hamburg Laeiszhalle , the Detmold concert hall and in the Munich Gasteig . Mirkhoshhal has also been engaged for numerous festivals, including a. for the "Musical Summer" (East Friesland), the Oldenburg Promenade, the Bad Harzburg Music Days, the Hitzacker Music Week and an event for young pianists in Medingen Monastery . As a soloist he has performed with the Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra , the Student Philharmonic Hanover and the Uelzen Chamber Orchestra.

Mirkhoshhal has been in the class of the pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard at the Cologne University of Music and Dance since October 2015 .
