nimm2 is a candy that has been manufactured in Germany by August Storck KG since 1962 . According to the manufacturer's website, the name nimm2 originated from the fact that the original candy bag contained two flavors and the candies combine sweet things with vitamins. The nimm2 candies contain a fruit filling and are available in lemon and orange flavors . For a short time it was also available in currant and cherry flavors .

ingredients

The ingredients include glucose syrup, sugar , glucose-fructose syrup , concentrated fruit juices 1.3% ( blood oranges , lime , orange , lemon , elderberry , aronia ), acidulants citric acid and lactic acid , sugared, condensed skimmed milk , whey product , natural flavoring , ascorbic acid , Niacinamide , riboflavin , folic acid , cobalamin , calcium - pantothenate , alpha tocopherol acetate and pyridoxine hydrochloride . Vitamins include vitamin C , niacin , vitamin E , pantothenic acid , vitamin B 2, B6, B12, B1 and folic acid.

criticism

The presentation of the product is criticized by consumer organizations because of the message that "valuable vitamins " and other additives are particularly healthy.

Foodwatch discovers consumer fraud at Storck AG. This is especially because the product is advertised with the addition of “valuable vitamins” (advertising slogan: “Vitamins and nibbling”). The same applies to the statement that Nimm2 is made from fruit juice, although it actually only contains a very small proportion of fruit juice concentrate . According to the manufacturer, this is five percent in candy , for example with the red fruit variety .

In May 2011, the Hamburg consumer center , together with the Eichdirektion Nord located at the same location, found that bags of lollipops of this brand contained 90 percent air. Therefore, an administrative offense was initiated for deceiving consumers with a sham package.
