The Nims Peak is an acute mountain peaks in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 5 km northwest of Mount Weihaupt in the group of the Outback Nunatakker .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after David J. Nims, ionospheric physicist at McMurdo Station in 1968.
