Nina Lykke (gender researcher)

Nina Lykke (* 1949 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish cultural and gender scholar. Her research focuses on feminist theory , intersectionality, and cultural studies.

biography

Nina Lykke studied comparative literature . Since her first publications in 1974, she has been concerned with understanding gender, body, technology, nature and culture from a feminist perspective. She received her mag.art degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1981 . (comparable to a German doctorate) in comparative literature. In 1992 she received a Danish (higher) doctoral degree with a dissertation on feminism and psychoanalysis.

From 1984 to 1999 she was director of the Center for Women and Gender Studies at Syddansk Universitet , the first of its kind in Denmark, and in 1986 she was awarded the title of Associate Professor. In 1999 she was appointed Professor of Gender Studies at Linköping University in Sweden , where she also served as Director of the Gender Studies Program. She received the title of Distinguished Professor in 2008 .

She was awarded an honorary doctorate from Karlstad University in 2016 .
