Nina Meurisse (born November 14, 1988 in Caen ) is a French film actress .

Life

At the age of 11, Meurisse prevailed over her competitors in a casting for Patricia Mazey's film The School of Lost Girls and was cast in the role of Lucie de Fontenelle at the side of Isabelle Huppert . Meurisse did not want to become an actress at first, but learned singing, harp and piano at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Caen before she turned to classical and modern dance. After completing her Baccalauréat , she studied drama at the Conservatoire of the 14th arrondissement in Paris and attended theater courses.

After several short films and a role in the television film The Sprinter , Meurisse first appeared in a movie again in 2009 in Frédéric Mermoud's accomplices . She had previously starred in the award-winning short films L'escalier (2002) and Rachel (2006), directed by Mermoud . In the following years Meurisse was seen in numerous short and feature films, where she often took on supporting roles. Boris Lojkine finally cast her in the lead role in the feature film Camille : The film describes the last eight weeks in the life of the journalist Camille Lepage , who was shot in 2014 during the civil war in Central Africa. Meurisse won the Prix ​​Lumières for Best Young Actress in 2020 for her portrayal . She was also nominated for a César for Best Young Actress.

Meurisse directed the short film Petit traité de marketing in 2002 , which won the Prix de l'Humour at the Festival de Houlgate. Since 2007 she has also played occasionally in the theater.
