Ninet Tayeb (born October 21, 1983 in Kirjat Gat ) is an Israeli singer of Tunisian descent and the first winner of the Israeli television show Kochav Nolad (literally: a star is born ), an Israeli show similar to Pop Idol , but not belonging to this franchise.

Life

Tayeb won the Israeli talent show Kochav Nolad at the age of 19 while she was doing her military service. From 2004 to 2006 she played the leading role in the telenovela HaSchir Schelanu (Our Song). Her first album Jechefa (Hebrew יחפה, German: barefoot) was composed and produced by Aviv Geffen and was released in September 2006. It was sold over 20,000 times and thus achieved gold status. Ninet released the album "Communicative" in 2009, which was produced by the Israeli rock band Rockfour . Her third album "Sympathetic Nervous System" was released in 2012. The album was recorded in Liverpool in summer 2011 with the band Rockfour. All songs on the album were written and composed by Tayeb, the musical production was directed by producer Mike Crossey and recorded in the Motor Museum Studio in Liverpool.

In 2013 Ninet released her fourth album "All the Animals Knew" ("All the Animals Knew", Hebrew: כל החיות ידעו, Kol HaHayot Yad'u). The album was produced by Yossi Mizrachi (whom Ninet later married) and Idan Rabinovici, a member of the Israeli indie rock band Acollective .

She became internationally known in 2015 through her participation on the album Hand. Cannot. Erase. by Steven Wilson . She can also be heard again on Steven Wilson 's studio album To The Bone, which was released in August 2017 .

Tayeb will release the "Paper Parachute" album on February 3, 2017.
