Nino Giannini

Nino Giannini (actually Virgilio Giannini , born July 10, 1894 in Sanremo , † January 17, 1978 in Lido di Ostia ) was an Italian film and dubbing director .

Life

Giannini shot Dita di fata in 1921 with his own script (based on a comedy by Eugène Scribe ) without any previous cinematic experience , which he had one work follow over the next two years. He then worked for the production company "SA Pittaluga" and the consortium "EIA", for which he became one of the first and leading dubbing directors in Italy. In 1939 Giannini published Se quell'idiota che pensasse ; four years later under the overall direction of Roberto Rossellini L'invasore . In the following two years he made three more films under his direction in the Republic of Salo , which ended his career after the end of fascism , of which Giannini had been a supporter since 1922.

After turning away from film, Giannini lived in the Villaggio dei Pescatori near Lido di Ostia .
