Nino Jacusso (born April 18, 1955 in Acquaviva Collecroce , Molise , Central Italy ) is an Italian-Swiss filmmaker .

Jacusso came to Switzerland when he was five, where he attended school. In 1973 he studied at the University of Television and Film Munich , graduating in 1977 with his film Emigrazione . Study and teaching stays in Berlin and Rome followed. The sequel to the graduation film was made in 1980 as a co-production with the Zurich film collective under the title Ritorno a casa . Jacusso shot this cinema documentary in his home village Acquaviva Collecroce (Vodaziva u Cruc), one of seven villages that were founded around 800 years ago by Skavones from the southern Slavic region in central Italy.

Shortly afterwards he founded the film production company Odyssee Film in Zurich with Franz Rickenbach . This was followed by the successful feature film Klassengeflüster (1982). After a difficult interim phase - Franz Rickenbach and Nino Jacusso separated while working on the film Die Nacht des Schleusenwartes and no longer ran their film production company - Jacusso began to work at Insertfilm AG in Solothurn. At first he worked as a freelancer, later in the management. The works Bellinvitu - the beautiful invitation (1990) were produced in coproduction with ZDF and over 100 films, both shorter and longer, on behalf of companies, institutions and organizations. He made the documentary Dirty Switzerland - Clean Switzerland (1996) for television . For his film Shana - Das Wolfsmädchen (2014) at the German Children's Media Festival Goldener Spatz 2015, he received the Children's Jury Prize for the best cinema or television film, the Thuringian State Chancellery's special prize as a director and the MDR Broadcasting Council's prize for the best script.

In order to be able to realize his own projects more consistently, Jacusso resigned from the management of Insertfilm AG in 1999 and worked from then on as an independent film author.
