geography

Nioumachoua is located on a headland on the south coast of Moheli. After Fomboni capital of the island does not have a direct way, although the straight line is only about 8 km. The development of the place is concentrated at the tip of the peninsula, while the bays that surround the peninsula, including Port Nioumachoua , have a mangrove belt . The place is known for the islets that stretch south in the sea, the so-called Îlots de Nyumashiwa . Since they were placed under protection as Parc marin de Mohéli , the islands' famous white beaches have mainly been used for tourism.
