Nistelitz is a town in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the south-east of the German island of Rügen .

It belongs to the community of Zirkow and is laid out in the form of a hamlet village. The population is 19 (2003).

history

The origin of the place name is unclear. According to unproven assumptions, it originated from Slavic .

middle Ages

It was first mentioned in a document in 1318 . At that time the place was owned by the von Putbus family . In 1326 Stoislav III sold. the place to the Stralsund brothers Albert and Johann Hövener for 510 marks. In 1359 Albert Hövener gave his share to the Bergen monastery , which Borante III. has been confirmed. In 1406, Arnd Goldenstede, who has meanwhile become half owner, sells his share to Johann von der Heide, who in 1410 also sold his share to the Bergen monastery .

reformation

For 1532 the ownership of the monastery in Nistelitz was given as 5 Hufen and 63 marks rent. In the course of the Reformation , the place came into domain ownership . In 1588 the Putbus family received the place as a fief. In 1694 the fiefdom was withdrawn again by the reduction commission . Nistelitz was again domanial. At that time, 4 full farmers and 1 Kossat were recorded for Nistelitz . Later, however, the von Putbus family bought the property again.

From 1800

In 1806 serfdom was also revoked for Rügen . In 1844 there were 16 houses in the village. Nistelitz had 119 inhabitants. For the year 1908 65 inhabitants were counted. The place belonged to the administrative district Lancken (Granitz) .

In 1913, the pension was Waldfrieden on the narrow-gauge railway Racing Roland erected. Also in 1933 there were 4 farms and a Kossat in Nistelitz. However, the population had dropped to 51 people.

From 1945

The property continued to belong to the von Putbus family. However, this was expropriated by the land reform in 1945/1946. Until around 1950 there were 13 farms in the village, 9 of which were created by the land reform. The population had risen to 97 people. In 1980 a house in Nistelitz burned down. In 1989 there were 14 people living in the village. However, 4 farms were converted into holiday homes.

In 1993 a Slavic settlement from the 10th to 13th centuries was discovered near the place. By 2001 the population had increased slightly to 24 people. In 2004, the construction of a road in the direction of the Seelvitz train station began .
