The nesting flies (Milichiidae), sometimes called food thief flies, formerly also known as cheese flies, are a family of small, predominantly black acalyptrate flies. Some of the species live with ants, while others eat adult animals in a kleptoparisitic or commensal way on insects that were captured by spiders (arachnida) or predatory insects.
