Rudolf Weltken

Rudolf Weltken (born December 18, 1929 in Andernach ; † March 11, 2018 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler ) was a German lawyer and CDU politician .

Life

After successfully completing his legal training in Cologne and Bonn , Weltken entered the public service. He held positions in public administration and became a senior government councilor in 1966 . Weltken was Mayor of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler between 1969 and 1993 . During this time he was responsible for the redevelopment of the old town in Ahrweiler and the opening of the Twin leisure pool . The opening of the Roman villa of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler , the city museum in the White Tower , the Ahr thermal baths and the 1100th anniversary of Ahrweiler also fell within his term of office. From 1999 to 2004 Weltken was a member of the district council in the Ahrweiler district .

He was a Roman Catholic and married .
