features

The very small, black digger wasps have greatly reduced wing veins . There is only one submarginal cell and one open discoid cell. The hind wings have almost no veins. The mandibles are just as simple.

Way of life

As far as is known, the females build their nests in cut branches, wasp galls and insect holes in wood. A nest consists of two to six cells that are laid out one behind the other. The cell partition walls are made of loose, fine wood chips, stones, or the like. The brood is supplied with dust lice (Psocoptera) and leaf fleas of the Psyllidae family .
