Noël Guyaz (born May 10, 1972 in Concise ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player .

Career

Guyaz played his first championship game in 1987 at the age of 15 for SC Langenthal . After three seasons in Langenthal, the then junior national player Guyaz signed a contract with the ZSC Lions in 1990 and was converted from a striker to a defender . The hockey professional also completed an apprenticeship as a structural draftsman .

In 1995 Noël Guyaz moved south to HC Ambrì-Piotta after a long injury-related break , but he was followed by bad luck with injuries and in 1998 got a new chance at the National League B club EHC Chur . With this team Guyaz celebrated two Swiss championship titles in the National League B and was promoted to the top division in 2000.

In 2002 Guyaz moved to HC Lugano , where he was able to celebrate his first Swiss championship title in the National League A year later. The following year, Guyaz was appointed to the Swiss national ice hockey team for the first time . In 2006, the defender with the shirt number 72 was able to receive the title of Swiss champion again and after winning the title moved to Rapperswil-Jona Lakers .

From the 2010/11 season he played again at his home club, SC Langenthal. In the 2011/12 season he was able to celebrate SC Langenthal's first championship title in the NLB and thus came to his third NLB championship overall. In the playoffs he contributed 11 points (7 goals and 4 assists). In 2014 he ended his active career. Since then he has continued to work in the organization. He serves as head of sport and as assistant coach in over 200 games. In November 2018, he announced that he would take a time-out of indefinite duration.
