No. 2 bomber group

The No. 2 Bomber Group of the British Royal Air Force is one of the two operations groups in the Air Command. Today, the group is called Air Combat Support Group (Air Combat Support Group), under its authority all aircraft in support of the fighting organizations (. Eg air refueling aircraft , transport aircraft , AWACS aircraft , etc.). The group's headquarters are at High Wycombe Air Force Base , Buckinghamshire .

history

The No. 2 Group was first formed in April 1918, during World War I , and existed until March 1920.

In 1936 she was again set up as a bomber group and served during World War II , from 1943 as part of the RAF Second Tactical Air Force . She was also involved in the area bombing of German cities ( morale bombing ) during World War II. It existed until 1947 and again from 1948 to 1958 and from 1993 to 1996. It was activated again in 2000.
