No Man's Land: The Rise of Reeker is a 2008 horror film by director Dave Payne. It is about a sheriff and his son who get into a gang of gangsters and are surprised by a killer. No Man's Land is the prequel to the movie Reeker .
action
1978: A serial killer haunts the wasteland of Death Valleys. He bunkers all of the corpses in his house. After another murder, the policeman Reed finds the bloody hubcap of the killer, who can then start the chase and catch him in his house. The killer then goes into the gas chamber.
Present: A gangster trio, consisting of an injured man, as well as Alex, the ex-boyfriend of the waitress Maya and the aggressive Binky, has robbed a casino and comes to a remote gas station where Sheriff Reed and his son Harris are taking a break. It doesn't take long for a firefight to break out, as a result of which the gangster's car explodes and the injured man dies. A mysterious earthquake follows immediately afterwards. Soon some of those present noticed that something was wrong. The corpse of the dead gangster is nowhere to be found and there is a strange, extreme smell in the air. The radio contact with the police has broken off, the telephones do not work.
Harris tries to get help on a farm. He is held up by an invisible wall and finds a mysterious man in a remote hut who is gutting an Indian. Binky has escaped in a car and hits the invisible wall. After the accident, half his skull is missing, but he's still alive.
A man in a hospital shirt appears at the gas station, his heart falls out of his body and he dies. Shortly afterwards the sheriff is kidnapped. The mysterious creature appears in several places: first he burns Binky with a flamethrower, spears a woman with an iron rod, and later drills a hole in the sheriff's forehead with a drill.
Harris, Maya and Alex, the last survivors, try to outsmart the killer. You want to blow up a gas tank. Harris collapses, and Alex uses his body to shield Maya from the explosion. The killer dies in the explosion and another earthquake occurs.
After the earthquake, the police, who were called in as reinforcements during the shooting, appear. It becomes clear that virtually no time has passed since then and almost everyone involved perished in the shooting because the gas tank was hit and exploded back then. The fatal injuries they suffered correspond in the consequences to those inflicted by the killer: the sheriff was shot in the head, Binky and Alex died in the explosion, the other woman from a flying iron bar; the hospital patient died in a simultaneous open heart operation and the Indian was eaten by wild animals in the desert. The only survivors are Harris and Maya.
Reviews
"An extremely brutal horror film full of exaggerated, grotesque ideas that sadistically charges the familiar."
"The lustfully exaggerated monster slasher will captivate even more those who do not yet know the secret behind the smelly desert killer from part 1"
