Noce or Castrocucco is the name of a southern Italian river. It rises at an altitude of approx. 2000 m on Monte Sirino in the Basilicata region , is approx. 50 km long and flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea .

The Noce flows mainly in a southerly direction and initially crosses the town centers of Lagonegro and Rivello . In the Lauria area , it swells considerably by numerous tributaries from Monte Sirino, including the Bitonto , Prodino Grande , Pizinno , Senieturo and Carrosoe streams and the Torbido river . Towards the end of its course, the river appears much calmer and acts as a border between Basilicata and Calabria for a short distance . In the area of the municipality of Tortora the Noce finally flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The Noce has torrent-like sections and has noticeable changes in water levels over the course of the year. On average, however, it carries around 2 cubic meters of water per second even in dry summer.

In times of the year when it has more water, the upper reaches is a popular area for rafting and canoeing .
