The Nolan Island (or Nolan Island ) is an ice-covered and 10 km long island in the Marshall Archipelago off the Saunders coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It is located 3 km north of the Court Ridge ridge in the Sulzberger Ice Shelf .
Participants in the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered and mapped them. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the island in 1966 after William G. Nolan of the United States Navy , radar officer aboard the icebreaker USS Glacier from 1957 to 1958 and from 1961 to 1962.
