Nomada villosa is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species is similar to Nomada striata and Nomada symphyti .
features
The bees are 10 to 12 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and drawn in red. The tergites are red, basal the first and occasionally the rest are black. The second, third, and fifth are spotted yellow. The mandibles are blunt. The labrum is red and has a tooth in front of the middle. The third antenna segment is significantly shorter than the fourth. The ridges between the punctiform structures on the mesonotum are angular. The heavily humped shield ( scutellum ) is red and densely structured in dots. The propodeum has long white hair. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and carry about five strong, dark thorns.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in Central and Northern Europe. The animals fly from early April to mid-July. They parasitize Andrena lathyri .
