Nonnosus Stettfelder

Nonnosus Stettfelder († February 10, 1529 in Bamberg ) was a Benedictine monk in the Michelsberg monastery in Bamberg (attested from 1470). From 1483 he was secretary of the Reform Abbot Andreas Lang. His handwriting is documented in some codices of the Bamberg State Library .

He wrote the German-speaking pair of saints about Emperor Heinrich II and Empress Kunigunde, printed in Bamberg in 1511 .

Stettfelder translated the Latin hagiographical sources about the imperial couple, the Vita Henrici from approx. 1160 and the Vita Cunegundis from around 1199, as well as smaller texts in a descriptive and popular way (Kunze) .
