Nora , as Norah transcribed, is the second largest island in to Eritrea belonging Dahlak archipelago in the Red Sea , and next to Dahlak Kebir and Dehil one of the three inhabited islands of the archipelago.
The island is located in the northwest of the archipelago and is 105 km² in size. From its south coast it is about twelve kilometers to the north of the main island of the group, Dahlak Kebir . Their greatest length of 17 km, however, is northwest-southeast. It is 16.3 km from northeast to southwest. The coastline is characterized by large bays, resulting in an area of only 105 km. Administratively, like the entire Dahlak Archipelago, Nora belongs to the Semienawi Kayih Bahri region .
According to the PNAS island database, Nora has an area of exactly 105.15 km². It reaches its maximum height of 37 meters in the northeast.
In 2009 the island had 373 inhabitants in 66 households.
The Dahalik language is spoken on the island as well as on Dahlak Kebir and Dehil .
The entire island and the surrounding waters are part of the Dahlak Marine National Park .
