Norbert Haimberger (born May 3, 1969 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian judoka . He became European champion in 1992.

biography

Norbert Haimberger began his sporting career at JGV-Schuh-Ski-Wien and became multiple Austrian national champion among the youngsters . After graduating from high school , he became a regular soldier at the Army Sports Center . At the European Judo Championships in Paris in 1992 , he won the title in the weight class up to 71 kg and qualified for the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona . Haimberger was the first Austrian to win in three different weight classes at the Austrian Championships within three years (1991 to 1993). At the end of his career he fought for the Colop Samurai Vienna, especially in the Bundesliga. In 1996 he started again at the Austrian Championships and won his fifth title.

Since the end of his sporting career he has been working as a market researcher , became managing director and co-owner of FOCUS CEE and later managing director and co-owner of puttini.net advertising agency .mbH In 2014, Haimberger became a partner in synMedico At GmbH.
