Norbert Klugmann (born August 27, 1951 in Uelzen ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Klugmann was born as the youngest of three children to the married couple Hildegard (1914 to 2002) and Willi Klugmann (1912 to 1971). The mother was a housewife, the father managed the canteen of the Federal Railroad at the Uelz train station. The family comes from Neustettin in the former West Pomerania and fled to the west in 1945.

After graduating from high school, he began his studies at the University of Hamburg in the autumn of 1970 , first German and sociology with the aim of higher education, after three semesters sociology, psychology and pedagogy. In the 20th semester, Klugmann finished his studies without a degree, after having studied general studies (including medicine) for several years .

In 1979 he met the actress Karin Roscher-Hoffknecht, the two married in 1981 and have been divorced since 2005. Klugmann has had a daughter since 1996. He has lived in the Hamburg district of Wellingsbüttel since 1998.

In 1979 Klugmann began to work as a freelance journalist, mainly for the program guides of the Bauer publishing group (in the 1970s he was a permanent freelancer for the music magazine " Sounds " and worked in the press office of the North German Radio; in the 1980s he wrote reports for the ZEIT magazine). In this way he created the financial support that enabled him to devote himself even more to writing literature than he did while studying.

At the end of the seventies, Klugmann published three books in Cologne's Prometh Verlag, one about the folk book character Till Eulenspiegel and two in collaboration with the independent theater group Theaterwehr Brandheide (“Hot Potatoes”). That was the beginning of regular book publications. By the end of 2012 Klugmann had written over 70 novels, of which ten by 2001 were in collaboration with Peter Mathews .

Norbert Klugmann writes novels in the genres of crime, thriller, satire and children's books.
