Norbert Klusen

Norbert Klusen (* 1947 in Mönchengladbach ) was chairman of the board of the Techniker Krankenkasse from 1996 to June 30, 2012 . Before that, he had been a managing director of the TK top management for three years. Most recently, he was responsible for the corporate areas of finance, marketing and sales, service and customer loyalty, as well as for the staff areas.

As a business graduate and Dr. rer. oec. He acquired many years of management experience in the electronics and mechanical engineering industries, most recently as a member of the board and Labor Director of Jungheinrich AG.

The doctor of economics is honorary professor for international health policy and health systems at the University of Hanover and honorary professor for health economics and health policy at the West Saxon University of Zwickau . In the USA he taught a. a. as visiting professor a. Visiting Lecturer at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In 2004 he was made an Honorary Senator of the University of Bayreuth and in 2014 an Honorary Senator of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau. Klusen was named “Manager of the Year 2005 for the Healthcare Industry ” by kma magazine . From 2000 to 2012 he was co-editor of the series "Contributions to Health Management", which is published by NOMOS Verlag. He is also involved in the role of Deputy. Chair of the Health Industry Initiative .

In June 2008, Klusen, who had an autoimmune disease, underwent a liver transplant. Before that, and especially since then, he has been campaigning for the subject of organ transplants.

In 2012 Klusen was awarded the vdek Merit Medal. In the same year he received the honor dfg award for his life's work.

He is a member of supervisory boards and advisory boards in the areas of health care, nursing, medicine, media and equity as well as a member of the expert advisory board for the innovation fund in the healthcare sector.

In August 2015 he succeeded the late Peter Oberender as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the supervisory body of the Health Foundation .
