Norbert Nelte (born September 19, 1945 ) is a German author and editor of the Linke Zeitung .

Life

After completing his commercial apprenticeship in the 1960s, Nelte studied business administration and, as an economic calculator, gained practical experience of how capitalism worked.

Social policy work

After Nelte had not found any sympathizers for the idea of ​​workers 'councils at the few demonstrations since 1960, he joined the German representatives of the International Socialists around Tony Cliff in the student movement and was an important member of the Socialist Workers' Group (SAG) for a long time .

In the 1970s he was able to gain practical political experience as a shop steward for a large company in the automotive supplier industry, as a spokesman for the anti-nuclear movement in Hesse, as a spokesman for the nuclear opponents in the trade unions in Hessen-Nassau, and in the 1980s as the founder and spokesman for the unemployed groups in Hanover. After he came to the opinion that the SAG developed to the right towards centrism in 1990 , that the theory was underexposed in favor of a movement frenzy and also did not share the SAG's entry strategy towards the Jusos, he founded the company in Cologne, but also through splits in other places like Frankfurt or Munich his own initiative to reorganize the International Socialists (IS), but remained regionally restricted and largely unsuccessful. He later founded the No Blood for Oil anti-war committee in 2001 after the attack on the World Trade Center . Since 2003 he has been completely paralyzed by multiple sclerosis . Today the IS work with the Left Opposition network and Norbert Nelte as editor of the Linke Zeitung .

In 2016, the IS dissolved completely. Since then he has only worked as an economist and journalist for the Linke Zeitung, writes as a Marxist economist with a focus on Rosa Luxemburg's theory of the "barrier to the accumulation movement" and as the author of 2 blog pages "Marktende" and "Marktendenews"

The focus of his theoretical work is on economic analysis. But he also awakened understanding of Tony Cliff's theory of state capitalism and was able to contribute his practical experience to the presentations of workers' history and studies of the left movement.

Norbert Nelte was the front musician of the Frankfurt-Bornheimer political rock band Bohrmaschine Bornheim (also BoBo or Bo Bo ) in the late 1970s under the alias “Flipper” . The band was particularly active during the first “ Rock Against Right ” festival in June 1979, but broke up a short time later. The band self-published an LP entitled Bobo Prolet Rock - It's Not Far Away, Our Land (1979). The cover of the self-released album shows pictures of the Antifa street battles.
