Rock gegen Rechts is an irregularly repeated motto at concerts against right-wing extremism in Germany and Austria. The concerts are also designed as political demonstrations. The corresponding format can also be advertised under other names (such as “ We are more ” in Chemnitz 2018).

Rock against Right in Frankfurt, 2018

The success of the first rock against right-wing festival on June 16, 1979 led to further concerts throughout the Federal Republic of Germany and, according to the organizers, contributed to the NPD's loss of importance. The second Rock gegen Rechts festival took place on 16./17. June 1980 in Frankfurt am Main at the same place. The first rock-against-right festival took place on June 16, 1979 in Frankfurt am Main on the Rebstock site. Jena 2011

On December 2, 2011, Udo Lindenberg organized a rock concert together with Sigmar Gabriel and the city of Jena against the right-wing extremist terror of the NSU and its supporters and sympathizers. On August 26, 2018, 35-year-old Daniel H. was stabbed to death on the sidelines of the Chemnitz city festival. A Syrian and an Iraqi were suspected of the crime.
