Norbert Scholl

Norbert Scholl (born July 7, 1931 in Schweidnitz , Lower Silesia Province ) is a German theologian and university professor.

Life

After finishing school, Scholl studied Roman Catholic theology in Königstein im Taunus and Freiburg im Breisgau from 1951 to 1956 . After receiving his doctorate , Scholl was rector of the Archbishop's Student Home St. Georg in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1960 to 1969 . In 1969 Scholl became professor for Roman Catholic theology and religious education at the Heidelberg University of Education . He held this position until his retirement in 1996. Scholl currently lives in Wilhelmsfeld .

Commitment to renewal

Scholl was committed to the renewal of the Roman Catholic Church , for example in 1995 with the popular initiative and in 2011 as the first signatory of the theologians' memorandum .
