Nordelbingen is a journal on local history research in Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Lübeck . The magazine on art and cultural history appeared in its 86th edition in 2017.

The first edition was published in 1923 in Heide with the title Nordelbingen. Contribution to local research in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Lübeck and was presented to Johannes Biernatzki as an honorary gift. Harry Schmidt and Walter H. Dammann were the founders . Harry Schmidt headed the magazine until 1958. Alfred Kamphausen was also co-editor of the magazine for a while.

Today the annual magazine deals with the results of art, literature and architecture research. The State Office for Monument Preservation Schleswig-Holstein alternately publishes a building research report and a monument preservation report . An extensive review section regularly discusses newly published books.
