criticism

“In her series, Henny Porten plays the drama“ Nordlandsrose ”, a very exciting story of a boatman. Photographically, the frame of the film game is, as always in the Messsterfabrikation, excellently chosen. The sea environment alone creates a wonderful atmosphere. (...) Henny Porten is above her task; the genius of this actress crushes the figure of this Northern Rose. But her tragedy knows how to grasp and captivate ... (...) This figure looks tragically large and our pity for the poor grows into the painfully devastating, because despite all the calamities, the woman's good intentions stand out. (...) The interaction between Henny Portens and Messrs. Stark and Felix is brilliantly rounded and stylish. "
