North Rhine-Westphalian university construction and financing company
The Nordrhein-Westfälische Hochschulbau- und finanzgesellschaft mbH , HFG for short , was a property development company of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the implementation of building measures in the university sector. The company was owned by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the company was based in Düsseldorf .
With § 1 of the Hochschulbaugesetz Nordrhein-Westfalen (HochSchBauG NW) from 1969 the HFG became with the expansion of the universities
as well as the creation of clinical facilities
- Aachen Clinic at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen ,
- Essen Clinic of the Ruhr University Bochum and
- University Hospital Münster of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster
commissioned by the state in accordance with the draft contract and the expansion program.
A volume of 924.0 million DM was earmarked for these construction measures for the period 1969 to 1976 . The company was also authorized to carry out the planning, implementation, negotiations as well as purchases and sales on behalf of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
With effect from October 11, 1977 , the company was released from these tasks again (§ 1 UniAusbFortG NW). It was disbanded that same year because of its economic problems. A political scandal broke out.
The student residences operated by the company became the property of the Studentenwerke, for example five student residences in Bochum with a total of over 1,400 places to the Studentenwerk Bochum .
