After he achieved better performance in the 1995/96 season, he was nominated on January 20, 1996 for the first time for a jumping in the Ski Jumping World Cup . In jumping from the normal hill in Sapporo he finished 19th and was able to win his first World Cup points in his first World Cup competition. He also won World Cup points in the second competition on the large hill with 27th place and ended the 1995/96 season in 73rd place in the overall World Cup ranking.
