Norman B. Spector

Norman B. Spector (* 1921 ; † 1986 in Evanston ) was an American Romanist and Medievalist .

life and work

Spector received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania . From 1952 he taught French and Italian at Northwestern University , the University of Chicago , Yale University and Oberlin College . In 1968 he founded the French and Italian Department at Northwestern University, which he headed until 1978.
